Kirtan can be described as music of the soul and has become a fast-growing movement in the United States. Come learn how to sing, play instruments and lead your own Kirtan in a loving, supportive, and nurturing environment. You will have hands on practice with a harmonium, learn simple melodies and mantras, and have time to practice individually as well as with the group. Small groups sizes and multiple facilitators will ensure that each participant can receive individual attention and focused learning. Elements of the training will include movement and vocal exercises, understanding the different styles of kirtan, basic rhythm, overcoming stage fright, and how to hold space for others.
In addition to learning practical music skills, we will dive into the deeper meaning of Kirtan and its powerful spiritual potencies, as well as yoga lifestyle practices that can enhance our kirtan experiences. We will also explore the history of kirtan, connecting you to the ancient traditions and rich cultures in which this practice has been performed for centuries. By the end of the class, you will have a much more intimate connection to Kirtan as a personal practice and be equipped with tools and knowledge to share Kirtan with others.
Please contact us at email@example.com if you need to use a harmonium, we will have some to lend and some to sell.
